  • and really it isnt the rockers they would have the problem making, it is the pedestals to mount them on...they really need some sort of alignment tab on them, they cannot just make em like the LS rockers, because they are flat on the bottom. unless everyone thinks the flat bottom would work...then that might cut down on the time until they are sent to foundry and the program to make them would be easier to do. that is the one problem they have...

A small dowel pin could be inserted in a drilled hole on the bottom if that would make it easier. I ground the alignment tabs off a stock set and shimmed them to work on an iron head motor for over 30k miles and never had a problem and that was bolted to a round surface instead of square. I never had a problem so properly torqued I don't see why they wouldn't stay put with a flat surface.

      • No alignment tab = guide plates = new pushrods.

            • why not just make them the same way the stock ones are with the little tab that fits in the head.

              • I suppose guide plates from an early 3100 and the hardened pushrods from the same motor would work without the notches, but kind of defeats the purpose of direct replacements.

Ya I looked too, and didn't see them. Can you post a booth number?

However I won't be there until the 6th or even the 7th so I doubt I get a crack at being first.

But I would like to check these guys out and have a chat with them.

Also the tabs would be a great bonus if at all possible.

the prob is getting just the pedestals...i have looked, they dont come separate...esp in the 3 different styles we would need for the 10mm 8mm rockers same height, then the 8mm of the 3900 height...

and that is what the deal is, if there wasnt a tab they could make them LS style...but we need the tabs...they are supposed to be there, they might be sponsoring another manuf or something...just look around for them

I'd be willing to send you both a 10mm rocker arm and 8mm rocker arm (with pedestals) if it would help.

                          • He meant to sell with them. It would be nice to have them drop in, but if we need to pull the pedestals off the stockers, that shouldn't be too bad either really.

                            • scorpion either does the whole thing or not at all to them. we could use the stock pedestal...but where the hell would you come up with that many pedestals? i mean to keep as stocking kits. idk

                              Comment

                              • You don't stock a kit, you stock them as rocker replacements, and the requirement is you need stock roller rockers to get the pedestals to put them on... in other words they wont be sold as a full set, you need to source your own stock rollers to get the pedestals... BUT 90% of the crowd that probably wants these already have these pedestals since they already have the roller rockers.

It could be listed as a 97+ upgrade for engines equipped with roller rockers since stock parts from those are needed for installation.

Also if they do the whole thing then they need to do the whole thing with the notch... You make it hard to find pedestals, but just think if they opt out the notch then you need to source pushrod guides... Same situation for finding parts... Granted you can probably buy guides alone but now the pedestal will have to be shorter to work with the guide, and all us guys that already got pushrods will now need hardened ones.
