Thanks, guys. I've been overwhelmed by the need to tend to the details in improving the mounting, positioning, belt sizing, and air tubing, while trying to keep the ultimate goal of adding back in the A2W intercooler. Change the mounting 1/4 inch on one side, and then you have to change almost everything else!

The benchmark for this build, and some water/alc injection is discussed at this link:

        http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showt...t=87638&page=2

It's not really a fair comparison, since the 2003 Alero/MP62 is essentially a new (stock exhaust) car, and the 1999 Alero/MP90 is a worn out car but rebuilt tranny, 3 inch exhaust and new blower. Without the A2W IC, both cars in this cool weather "feel" like they could run high 13s. The MP62 car has amazing throttle response, the MP90 is merely excellent, if that makes any sense. If you are going to run 10 to 12 pounds boost maximum, I'd choose the MP62 -- higher volumetric efficiency at car's redline rpm, comes into boost faster, lighter rotating mass. If you want more potential boost for the future, go with the MP90. But I may change my opinion a bit after more time working with the MP90 build. Assuming the car holds up lol

And I've used up every spare piece of CAI/filter piping I had for these builds, need to regroup a little before I get that A2W going.

Even cooler air, better intake tubing, etc. Just a tick over 10 psi, 10Khz, 31 MAF....

So now I'm going to watch a Preston Tucker Dvd, and then listen to Aerosmith. Must have inspiration!

I guess we'll see about that, hard to tell after only a week . I should be working on it, but now I want to drive it lol ...Need to put on my straight-through UIM next.

                    Info reposted from Aleromod:
I'm at square 1 with a new blower and trans rebuild, motor is on the way out, though Going to mod one step at a time to see the effect of each. Not as much power as the previous build yet, but it's getting to be fun to drive again.

Stock MAF, bored out TB ( to 65mm), stock UIM, (no EGR), stock FPR, 3 inch exhaust, supposed to be a built tranny, with MMGT1 (Paul's) tune. 2nd burnout in the vid, see slight shadow on the dash from tire cloud

Here's a look and listen, pay no attention to old guy driving, he's crazy.

Yeah, I do too, and this one is much louder than usual because of the venting in the hood, (see avatar)

A little too much Cowbell, but eventually the stock hood can go back on when I'm tired of it

That does sound nice. It says sleeper (other than the hood) until you step on it.

On second thought, I installed a new 68mm TB first, since I have to redo the driveshaft mount before replacing the UIM, etc. It is matched to my SC inlet opening size.

So, just a run out for some errands, no scans, but it hit a solid 12 psi more than once on this fine cool day, wants to jump out of it's skin lol

I believe a stock MAF will be good enough here, also matches the TB opening.

Back to fearing for engine and trans mounts holding up, and got a bad valve or something on #1. If it stays together, will try to get it to a track.

Have you considered trying to put an A-W intercooler right there at the discharge?
