yeah, im gunna do a compression test here soon (been fixing other stupid shyt) and as long as the compression is good i need to do HG's. the rear head is leaking a litle and the front is leaking oil down the front of the block all over everything. When the heads are off im gunna have them freshend up a little, new seals and maybe springs/retianers. dont think im gunna do a port job or anything.

While you have the heads off and apart, you may as well at least polish them up a little inside. Even if you dont remove alot of material Im sure it will still help out. You wouldnt want to put it all back together and then decide you wish you would have done it.

maybe, ive decided if my heads are not flowing enough i just need to cram more boost threw them . lol jk... Ported heads on a turbo car make much less of a differnece then NA or SC. if its cheap i might do a light port and pollish but most likely they will get freshened up and new springs/retianers and thats it.

WHAT? Since the percentage of gains for a port job will be similar from NA to boost, you will gain even MORE on a set of PROPERLY ported heads with a boosted car vs N/A (end HP)

              ^ what he said, LOL...

since the heads will physically flow more, let's say 8PSI at 5000RPM on unported heads is 300 grams per second. now, if you improved flow enough, that same 8PSI? it's actually more flow since there is less restriction.

or at least that's my take on it

Eventually the valves will become the next bottle neck.

Eventually everything becomes the next bottleneck. Estimate for valves to be bottle neck? Right after you break the block.

Splitting the block is the goal!

New welder? What happened to the last guy? At least if you are doing head gaskets you can take care of those valve stem seals now. If you go with the Felpro head gasket set, it comes with Viton stem seals.

That is the plan when the heads are off. The old welder is still around just busy and this is a small side project and low priority so i got another guy who has a little more time for my stuff. he does great work so im excited to see them when done..
