sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't . more so on the doesn't part when the tools are cold.

i got a propane heater that does a decent job of taking the chill out of the air but you still know it's below freezing.

    • I can get the garage plenty warm, no doubt about that, I just need to wait about an hour or two before its nice out there. I break the chill with a salamander propane heater then the wood stove takes over and keeps it warm, sometimes too warm too.... lol

        Oh yeah, cold tools suck.

I remember having to change my Mom's car tire in the dead of winter. It was in the negative teens, even the slush/salt on the road side was frozen over it was that cold. 30 mph winds, snow drift up the side I had to change. I couldn't even see the tire until I shoveled the snow away. Had to jack it up on ice too. That was a torturous job. So cold it starts to sting the eyes.

NE US Winters, they can get bad at times.

Thank GOD I have a garage these days.

        • I tore into a tranny in an old K5 Blazer (can't even remember why now) in January in Maine, outside on the snow. By the time I was putting it back together, I literally could not feel my fingers. Worst time ever...

Hey Jon, so your just looking for a bomb proof converter with a 3200 stall?

              • To sum it up yes... But the converter I have is said to be a 3200 stall or so... But I don't know if that's with 160hp or my 220-317hp... lol All I know is it acts like a 5k stall when going down the strip under spray, and 4800 stall on the street... I'm just leaving the selection and building of it up to the experts since RevMax has my HP chart and cam specs I think they can come up with something that should work.

                  • Revmax did mine and so far it's pretty much dead on at 3500. I kinda wish i had gone higher now but it works fine, and you can't even tell under normal driving.

                    • That answers that question, I wanted to know who did yours. Thanks for the input Dave. They are suggesting 4k for me

I'm sure if you asked them too they would be willing to re-do yours. PDQ was willing to do that with mine to get it right, but they had two tries and fucked up both... lol

                            • i'm going direct drive, gonna weld the driveshaft to the flexplate.

probably a T5 swap, T56's are way too pricey and heavy. I like the built auto but without another few hundred in upgrades it's a ticking (and fluid leaking) time bomb.

                              • Start building it yourself and it wont be that much money... I start to think auto's are expensive and then I price out how much it would cost to swap my car again and decide to stick with the auto. I have to imagine my 4t60e costs me more money to do stuff since the lack of aftermarket vs the trans you choose.
