I hope I can keep it that way... LOL, if not, more power is needed then that will justify a 65e swap Gotta counteract the weight addition somehow

i fail at reading dates. i saw the 4-22 part but didn't look at the year.
you made some good progress on the car. hopefully i can get mine to the track this year. finally got the braided lines on without cutting the existing hard line. PB blaster FTL and Free-all FTW, don't remember how much PB blaster i soaked on there but 15minutes with Free-all and they all broke loose.
we'll have to get together sometime soon. i don't think you have seen the car since that depressing track outing a few years ago.sigpic

You replied the same year as my last post... lol
I use Howes lubricator/penetrating oil and that works pretty good.

I really like the way the engine bay turned out, it looks pretty sharp. As a side note, what does ISOP stand for? Or do I want to know...-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

We have to run an open differential in the race car... ISOP is POSI spelt backwards... makes people think when they look at it but could be a note for us... lol Get it...
Its not like ICUP... haha
I'll get a better shot of the bay with the motor all in there, I finally found my 8gig memory card for my camera.

Well I haven't been able to run the car as well as I've wanted this year. I have yet to hit my favorite track, just been way too busy... Did a few runs when we went out for Bfest in Indy but the track was so poor I was spinning everywhere. Since then I've changed the torque converter and had the stall dropped a bit. I'm hoping that will lessen the amount of wheel spin off the line but we'll see.
I also revisited my tune... After doing a lot of reading and data logging on my Subaru I've found out better ways to tune the car, and ways that make more sense. I properly scaled my IFR for the Vac changes with resulting pressure, and that helped me work with my VE tune more, I also then revisited my MAF tune and started to aim my requested A/F to match my actual reading from my wideband, right now I'm within 0.1 to 0.2 a/f when running WOT, so now I can use that target table to modify my mixture, rather than guessing at how much to scale my MAF. I just started messing with spark as well, I got it running MUCH better on the highway, and idle and such, I added a bit more spark at WOT as well and I'll see how that likes it later I was running 26.5 and I've bumped it up 2* to see what happens. I have a feeling I'll have to pull some of the timing, but I want to make sure I'm already running as much as I can since that does make quite a bit of power.
Here is a recent data log from a pull I did... 2nd gear into 3rd up to 106mph... lol I love living in the country.
UVSCAN_10-7-2011 7_44_46 AM-Pull.csv
Log looks really good if you ask me.
Shooting for Epping tomorrow since they have an event and a test and tune day, so the track should be prepped nicely and also the air should be pretty good.Last edited by 3400-95-Modified; 10-07-2011, 09:14 AM.

12.9@106.4 is as best as I could do... It was friken hot this weekend... It was around 75-80 ambient air temp and I was having traction issues again. As well as the ocasional shifting issue where it just wouldn't shift into 2nd fast enough, or at all. Gotta talk to Jeff at EP about that and find out what he can do to help me there.
Also got to meet gpse3400 while I was there, he was there with his Dodge Charger making some runs with a few other friends, so at least I had someone who appreciated the 3400 deal...
One other thing I need to work on as well is possibly build up an electronic WOT switch since the mechanical one I have failed to engage one run when I was up agianst a Buick GN and I could have taken him! I was running 13.0's all day long with shitty 60ft times but when I was against him the trans missed a shift so I had to let up and get on it again and thats when the nitrous didn't come back on and I ran a 14.0@94... He only ran a 13.3.
Better luck next time, and maybe I'll get to hit the track more next year... this was actually my first time there other than when I went to Bfest and that track, well... Blew...

Can anyone recommend a torque converter company that they have delt with and are happy with?
Dave? Who made yours?
Right now I've been talking with RevMax Converter and I've told them what my current converter is doing what my engine setup is and what times I'm putting down and they LAUGHED at the converter that I'm currently running and couldn't believe that PDQ sold that to me. He said that he would recommend a 4k stall and that what I currently have is stalling around 5100-5200.... I would like to use my torque after a shift and off the line more since right now I'm skyrocketing passed 4k and hitting 5k so fast, and then after a shift at 6750 I don't drop below 5100 RPM, so RevMax said they could make something that would bring be down to the 4200-4400 range after a shift which I think would work MUCH better.
If anyone has any other converter places let me know, I'm in the middle of comparing prices and seeing what input I can get from them on whats going on with my current converter and why its so bad/loose.
Anyone want a god who knows what stall PDQ converter? Only run for maybe 4k miles so far... I just had it rebuilt and the stall dropped before Sept.
