Its about 4cc bigger than a 3400 combustion chamber, but that also helps to explain the flow numbers.
Edit: I'm and engine newb so I'm still trying to learn everything.

Same problem as the 3100. The gen 3 heads were designed to fit the 3100, which is why I can get much better low lift flowumbers from modifying them to fit the 3400. The 3500 is already out there, so while I don't know for sure, i would avoid the 2.8/3.1/3100 and the 3500 top end combined. You can't bore a 3100 out to 3400 spec.
The kit may come with an AFPR, or an option at least. Right now we just want something to clear the plenum so it doesn't have to be modified anymore.
No stock 60V6 has had roller tipped rockers. The 3500 use the same rockers as the 3400 from what I can tell. I am not sure yet if the heads can be modified enough to fit the gen 2 pushrod guides, in order to use the crane gold race rockers that are roller fulcrum and tip. I have found studs to work for the 8mm 3400 heads (same as the 3500 heads), which started in 03 I believe.Ben

yah mine i think have the 10mm studs in mine, i think the redid the studs in 03. so they are the same ratio and everything then, will the 3500 heads come with all the vavletrain or will i have to get some new ones. and will i have to use the pushrods from the 3500 or will the stockers work or will i have to get special length ones?

cam motion makes cams for the 3100/3400.. i am going to have a custom one ground for my turbo 3400 bottom end with 2.8 race heads..
right now they dont have any cores in stock but maybe if they get more than one order, maybe they can get a few in stock a little sooner?

Although I didn't understand most of that, I gathered enough to understand that I'm boned. What can I do for my engine to get more power (aside from exhaust and FWI)? I don't want a stupid amount of power, but I want my car to be quicker than the average Lumina/W-Body. I'm thinking maybe around the numbers that the 3800SC puts out, or maybe a bit less because the 3800Non-SC is pretty quick by itself.
I'm debating whether I want to boost or remain N/A.

The length is the same for the pushrods, though I would always check your geometry with any swap just to be sure. I also am not sold on the pushrods milzy sells. I will have a set soon but I am more concerned about strength than weight on the pushrod side. You want lightweight on the valve side.
I am not sure how the heads will come when I buy them so I may have to price new rocker arms. Hell, it might be a good time to just convince people to swap the whole engine. Its got a nice bottom end as well:PBen

Well, their pushrods might be ok, i dunno yet. However its the length that needs to be checked. The ability to order custom length rods would be a lot better than only getting stock length. Crane does custom length but their tolerances are bullshit. There are a couple other places that make pushrods, though I am not sure on price and turn around time.Ben

Smith brothers make custom pushrods. www.pushrods.net Cost is around $120, turn around time about a week, and they have lots of options. I wouldn't say you really "need" upgraded pushrods though unless you are changing rockers or going with a bigger cam. Also you said you aren't sure about headers... I'll tell you right now you aren't going to make any decent power gains without them, no matter how much porting and part swapping you do, because the stock manifolds suck. They will always cause a restriction to gains from other parts. There are plenty of people using headers with no problems and no burned wires etc. That all depends on how good a job you do installing them, and it's not hard. Suck it up and get some.'97 Grand Prix GT 3800 (sold)
