I've been running a turbo on my Monte with the LZ9 for a couple years now. Still on the stock engine....... Transmission on the other hand is a different story.

I will be undertaking a turbo'd LZ9 project this summer on my Impala. I've read quite a few good reviews on the LZ9 handling boost in stock form.
There's even a YouTube video of a Monte Carlo with a boosted LZ9.

No way, bro! That's awesome! I've been following your videos ... Was always curious what you went through to boost the 3900. Honestly, I always thought the 3900 was the bastard child of the series because it's like nobody does anything with them or even has a large aftermarket support ... then again, I may be looking in all the wrong places.

Only things custom is the manifolds, oiling and downpipe. Everything else was off the shelf parts from various GM vehicles. Right now I'm working on trying to find the posts on valve springs, I need to upgrade because of valve float at the higher RPM's I need to use the full power band.

You have a 1.8" install height, so the PAC 1518 springs are a drop on. That is what I would run in a 3900.

oh, might/probably want new seats for them. LS is the same stuff so I am sure manley or similar seats will work.

I've been wondering why there's none of these in a J-body. Will the 3900 bolt in with 3400/3500 style swap mounts? Or does it require it's own custom brackets? I understand the VVT and crank trigger issues.

I would say because of the lack of knowledge with the 3900 and the fact that a 3400/3500 can make enough power to make traction in a J-body a joke.
