I picked up this beauty this morning from All Pro in Florida.........has a 3 year warantee and 22k on it for $220.00. This is the beginning of the hybrid build and the crane in the background is new from Harbour freight for $99.99....and YES.....my garage is carpeted..........can you tell I have an OCD issue......anyway the build should be fun and when I get the 3400 bottom things will start to take shape. Untill then....disassembly and cleaning(of course) and porting and send off for coatings...i will keep you pictorally informed through out the winter.

    Cheers

    Chris

Now they have really pissed me off. I paid $360 delivered to my shop, and they asked me several times if I were a business.

"Little John" was my salesman, and he is getting an earfull Mon morning.

I origionally was going to buy 5 engines, too!!! Glad they didn't come through after seeing them have a 66% failure rate (2 out of three engines had problems).

Damn is everyone doing a 3500 project at once. So was that $220 with shipping? If so then I can get a 3.4 sooner than I thought for my Camaro. Congrats to everyone who has gotten a 3500.

They actually wanted MORE for an older 3400, said it was based on supply and demand. Never asked about a 3.4, though. They are warenteed engines that come out of wrecked cars (running cars). Not like a junk yard.

I know they come out of running cars but does the price include shipping on what they list for the price since you guys are getting these motors for cheap.

ive got a 3500 too but i need the rest of it!! lol, its been sitting in my basement for a few weeks now

price listed on car-part doesn't include shipping, they had it listed at $150 plus shipping for the one, not sure aobut everyone elses but chances are that if its under $350-400 that its not including shipping

I picked mine up at the yard....I live an hour away. Forced...you need to talk to John about yours.....he is a straight up guy....he probably didnt even see what went out. The covered engine yard is huge. I would be willing to bet he will make good on your stuff. They seem very professional, not just a redneck junk yard. Be professional to him and you can be assured he will be in turn. I am only using the top end so if anyone wants anything else let me know.

I wasn't upset at the fact that some parts were broken. I told him what I was doing with the engines and he warned me about the timing cover before shipping. I was upset at the fact that I called as soon as I saw the $150 engine and he said there was no such thing (couple wks ago), then it shows up here on the site.

The engine came with both "Header Style" exhaust manifolds, but no crosover pipe. Does the 3500 use one, and if so , does anyone have one they would be willing to get rid of. Also, if it does use a crossove is there more than one peice such as a downpipe. i am going to port the manifolds and get them coated instead of 700.00 for headers. The 3500 manifilds look quite fine compared to the 3400 ones. Any Ideas or comments?

You can build your own headers for a couple hundred bucks. Use 14ga mild steel and get them coated. I've used a cheap flux-core MIG on tons of projects and haven't had a weld break yet (actually one did because I grinded it to be pretty, lol), places like Harbor Freight have them for around $100. For a first timer, I would suggest spending a little more dough to get one with argon, but either will do. Take an afternoon to practice a little, and it's not too hard to get a grasp on. My welders have been indespensable.

*OR* You can come to my shop when you are ready and we'll get some headers and exhaust made up, and I'll teach you to weld . The shop is in Deerfield Beach, 10min South of Boca Raton.
