"...In a HUGE Weather Surprise...A Sudden Nor'Easter blew through Upstate New York today...leaving the areas "Just South of the Canadian Border"...completely Snowed in! It was the biggest surprise of all up in the Great City of Buffalo...where snow has been seen drifting as high as the power lines and the phone poles in some areas... Oh by the way folks... All Federal, State and Local City offices ...will be closed until further notice...and Hey Kids...How about a Nice Snow Day!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!"
Max...after turning off the radio... runs out into the snowbank...screaming, "Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ?!!!" The snow...melting from the heat of his words.....
Sorry, Bro'..I just couldn't resist...
EDIT: Damn I wrote this for your EPIC Post Office probs...Dammit! I missed my spot!Last edited by 60dgrzbelow0; 11-25-2009, 11:22 PM.

Robert, i'm going to stop over at my friends house and retrieve my chip with the tune on it (since i lost all my files). Then maybe we can finish the automated VE simulator you've been helping me with.
Then i can change it on the tune, burn the new chip etc.
Question: do i need to disconnect the battery before removing the chip from the computer or should it be ok?
thanks

As long as the car is in the "off" position, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I have actually messed up and burned chips with the pins in the wron position (my burner will burn 32 pin EEPROM's) and never had a problem - except the car ran very irregular lol.
Biggest thing you have to watch out for is putting the chip in backwards.

and don't worry, i will not make that mistake with the chip. It wouldn't be the end of the world considering i have an extra one on hand....
p.s. just pulled the chip and nothing seemed to smolder/light on fire, so we are probably OK!

just so you guys can keep tabs on what i'm doing with the tune (more behind the scenes now than before)
Robert has shown me how to work on my VE tables with a cool fueltrim program so before i datalog again i'll be doing the little changes available to the .bin and then burning the chip again. (Rewritable chips FTMFW!!)

new chip has been burned!! with changes to the VE tables....
question: The graph i was working on had VE cells for Map kpa @ 600 rpm, 1200 rpm, 1600 rpm etc.
but what about all the rpms inbetween? For instance my car usually idles around 1,000 so will it idle any better now that we've made the changes?
There is probably an easy answer to this question but since i'm a noob i'm going to not feel bad asking this hahha
