Well here she is the replacement for the 04 grand am GT. Here is the story:
The car was ordered new in 1988 by an elderly couple in Duxbury, MA. It was ordered specifically for the 5 speed trans. Well as the story goes the car was driven by the wife of 50 at the time back and forth to work at the local county clerks office about 5-10 miles a day. Unfortunately the husband died 2-3 years ago and the wife followed suit 10 months ago at the age of 70. A local used car lot who's owners new the couple purchased the car as part of the estate sale. I'm sure they got it for a song since they knew the family.
The car is like buying a new GPSE back in 1988. For a 19 year old car it is in incredible shape. It was always garaged and I think it was never driven in the winter. It has 65 thousand original miles! Everything works and has a fully documented history of maintenance. I even got the original window sticker which show the car cost $17,044 back in 88 which was a pretty hefty price tag back then for car.
Like I already said it has a 2.8 V6 with a 5 speed. Tires are new, brakes are good, suspension feels good, even the darn parking brake works right which is unheard of. The car barely has a mark on it or a chip in the front. I don't think it was ever driven on the highway.
Well I will stop rambling on and show some pictures. I made the trip out to Braintree, MA and bought the car last weekend and drove it back to the southern tier in NY. The alternator crapped out on the test drive so they put a new one in it before I left. The price...........asking $4500 .........I paid $3500!!!!!! Looks like I got a new DD. I'll put it on the road after the GAGT sells hopefully today
