dohcfiend ,you mean to take off the cat from the exaust ,i allways wanted to do that would that be better than replacing it with a hi-flow cat.
here is a pic of my cutlass conv. with the new engine .
hope ben, sees this (there will be more to come).
i just love to watch the wheels turn around and around
u can but it is just easier to gut the converter and bolt it back on. cost $0 but i wouldn't recommend it if your state uses a smog sniffer. i like that car, well work keeping it alive with a new engine. what color interior? black? leather?
the intirior is black leather ,i'll post more pics latter iam redoing all my stereo system and have the intior all mess up.i have alot of stuff and i want a simple set-up almost stock looking that is very hard on this car.
ben,i can tell a niticible loppy on this engine sounds nice and it will sound alot better with new mufflers ,i might go with flowmasters ser.40.where i can really tell the diffrence is on torque it spins the tires with eassy.thats why i'll put a transpak on the tranny what rpm torque corver you recommend for this engine.
but,i can tell that the stock chip holds down what this engine can do ,cause pulls very strong on every gear until it goes on high speeds ,can't wait when i get the chip .it really going to make a diffrence.
man i really love this car ,and i am planning to build up nice.i like the stock look, thats why iam debatting into keeping the original wheels or going to after market wheels ,what you guys think.
i just love to watch the wheels turn around and around
go with a 3000 stall, i had one in my old z34 and it did nice. if it were my cutty and i had a little change id go aftermarket but i say do whatever you like, either way that car looks pretty cherry to me.
3000 stall should be good I still don't have my burner back but you are right, it needs a chip to really get it going. Just make sure you check the oil as it likes to suck it up through the PCV. I used a catch can type setup for the PCV line and collected oil that way. Lots of crankcase pressure throwing oil all around.
Be nice to your tires:P I really didn't rag on that motor so it should be pretty strong. It doesn't like anything much past 6500 though but with the chip you will definetly have more powre from 5000-6500 than you have now. More all around but the timing really helps the low end. The ported heads are the only reason it lopes like that actually.
