At some point in the future, if I can keep the old 'Lark running that long, I'd love to either supercharge or turbocharge the old 3100 SFI. My question is, would it be more cost effective to try and hunt down a 3400 DOHC from a Lumina Z34/Euro 3.4 and tune that up? I don't plan on putting several grand into the car, so...

but to the OP, what year make and model are we dealing with?"I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I have broken with society for reasons which I alone am able to appreciate. I know nothing about doing any of this plumbing stuff...I assumed someone out there made an upper intake manifold/supercharger assembly that would just bolt right to an existing lower intake manifold and solve that part of the plumbing. Granted, even with that, I dunno where the air intake and throttle body would go...
I guess when it comes to an engine like this, you have to custom plumb everything because supercharger/turbo kits straight up don't exist.

I'm not aware of one, but I think Mars had a supercharger kit on his cavalier. might shoot him a PM."I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. Probably better off to wait for AleroB888 to finish with his front mounted MP90 and hopefully he would let the castings out of the bag so that everyone else can do it aswell for cheaper. Cause I can see that becoming a very popular thing to do with 60*'s if it all works out with him.14.63@92.9 -Full LX9 with CAI, 65MM TB, 2.5in DP, Borla Cat-Back, Crappy tires, Quick tune (Dyno Soon)

It might be possible to modify a TGP turbo setup for reasonably cheap, however, the manifolds would be somewhat restrictive and the stock T25 turbo should at least be upgraded to a T28. Should make good power over stock though'89 Firebird, 3500 Turbo, T56, 9-bolt/4.11

I recommend installing a 3400 and obd2 before considering a turbo or SC swap.. I wish I had done a 3400 and obd2 before I built my first turbo kit. But if you want to do either a turbo or SC swap, it'll be several grand.Last edited by Z26-T; 11-02-2012, 01:37 AM.You may or may not know 10 times what i do.

hopefully, we can go a step further and just use the M90s from the L67s and make the process even cheaper to get into.
