Are you talking about the stock roller rockers? If you heads have the notches for the factory rocker pedestals, then all you have to do is bolt them on. If your heads don't have the notches, then you are SOL. Basically need to get heads with roller rockers stock.
If you are talking aftermarket, that's a different story...
As far as working with the stock cam, there is nothing you have to do.-Brad-

3100's all had 1.6:1 ratio stock BTW.
The 96+ 3100's had roller fulcrum rockers (not roller tip though). To use them your heads must have the notches where the rocker pedestal bolts to.
Any 3100/3400/3500 (lx9) valve cover will bolt up. The older year 3.1.mpfi I'm not sure. With a some work they might, but you got the coolant tube etc possibly to work around.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

your car has 1.6 rockers already.
the ones you bought, are they Magnum roller tips?

You only need to worry about the notches if you are planning on running the stock roller (fulcrum) rockers.

Ok, we'll start from the beginning...
You currently have stock 95 heads and you want to install a set of Comp Magnum roller-tip rockers in place of the stock, correct? If so, it should be just a simple bolt-on install. You really won't be gaining much with a roller tip rocker, other than a more accurate ratio and a very slight reduction in friction.-Brad-

he said last time he had a bolt on. you already have 1.6 rockers on the heads. you won't notice the roller tips should you put them on. i wouldn't waste the time and money to install a roller tip without a ratio increase. if you had a 1.5 ratio, like i did, it's very much worth it to swap them.
did you know there are different length pushrods at the time? you didn't have to scrap the motor from bent pushrods.Andy
