Got alot of reading to do now.
Thought everyone new about that by now. You'll need to focus your reading as the DIS ignition application is still new and why my car is still under TGP code for the moment.
Do a search for sixshooter on code59, he is the first to my knowledge to have succeeded using it with 60 degree DIS ignition and I believe without weird numbers entered for timing constants. Search for DIS and you should get the info you need.
For clarity, because the code is originally for a distributor ignition system, the timing constants are different and as a result will not fire the DIS engine properly until timing logic parameters are set properly to produce a logical output, otherwise the timing severly retards and will probably result in a no start which is what happened to me.

Hmmm..
I've done the opposite, changed from COP to Dizzy with a calibration-but not the other way.
Haven't had a chance to read the code59 site yet,but is it the typhoon/syclone cal?
Those were 4.3's (which have never had DIS) aren't they?
This is the reason I want someone to do my chip for me,don't have time to learn the old stuff.
Already asked Ed if he would write something up for it but he's got too much going on right now to mess with something he doesn't have a baseline with already.
code59 is a major modification of $58, which was Sy/Ty(and turbo sunbird as well), which were dizzy equipped 4.3s.
i think there are only a few (3?) constants to change to allow for DIS to work properly on code59 with a 660...
That's the gray area, there are several parameters read to arrive at the final spark timing and if the result of the logic is wrong the module will pull all advance and the engine may not run at all or very poorly. The problem was with negative values I believe. I haven't bothered reading over the proceedure yet because I'm still a couple of months out from going home to work on the car. Otherwise it is an impressive modified code not to mention the program written in excel that compiles your datalog and spits out a recommended fuel map to help with the tune.
certainly some cool stuff for it. i believe a fourth constant may be involved(main spark bias) should there not be enough adjustability from the others...
1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!
