An X-pipe will have no effect for performance on a V6 simply because it's an even firing design. Same with ALL V6's 90 or 60 deg. A cylinder fires on the opposite bank every time the engine fires through out the firing order sequence. True duals are the best or merged into 1. A V8 (except for a few exotics) have an unequal firing order and has a pair of cylinders fire together on the same bank throughout the firing order sequence. Since 2 pulses are in the same side of the engine, the H or X allows the big pulse to split into 2 smaller pulses as if it were on the opposite side of the engine in the first place. Since a V6 has pulses alternating from bank to bank evenly, it would be a moot point.

Not all v6 are even fire motors. Im pretty sure the older buick motors were odd fire and the 4.3's as well, were as the newer 3.8's and the 60 degrees were even fire.

Incorrect sir. They have an odd fire firing order but they still fire bank to bank opposite one another. Left, then right and so on, hence the need for any crossover pipe is a moot and wasted effort.

It would still be interresting what effect it has on exhaust sound.. Maybe it would help get rid of that V6 rasp...

I'll be building headers for my hybrid shortly, and ill be doing true duals and using a dual in dual out cat as a balence pipe, along with a dual out dual in aerochamber. Should'nt be too much different than most stock single systems tho.

An X pipe will make it raspier. An h pipe will make it deeper. Also having an x pipe on a fwd car with the stock manifolds/crossover pipe will be essentially worthless. The x-helps balance the exhaust pulses and promotes scavanging of exhaust gasses from the exhaust ports.

If they work......will you be willing to make headers for other 3500 hybrids?
