I doubt the filter has much to do with the pressure. Oil pressure is dependent on the pump, specific viscosity and the clearances in the motor. Every moving part is a controlled oil leak. So pressure for any given oil and temperature just depends on how big your leaks are. In reality if you have 10psi at idle and 40psi at 5000rpm you have enough pressure.

Stock filter for Beretta's 2.8 engine is AC-PF47, but I have been using AC-PF52e, a longer filter. A few years back, when I switched from AC-PF47 to AC-PF52e on 1988 Beretta, I observed a pinch higher idle/run pressures.

I've never seen a difference between brands. It could be because my filter is so over sized that not even a crappy Fram will restrict the engine.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma
