    YES!! I called that one....

Sorry to hear that though... But hell if you think about it this is better, you may not have the money right away but at least when it goes back together you can say it has a cam to support boost... where Ricky doesn't... you may have the edge on him.... till he gets his 3500 thing done.

It was the LS6 springs on a stock cam.

Aftermarket cams should have a stronger pin than the stock one.

May be an oddball cam, or that center bolt wasnt quite tight enough so it allowed it to chatter...

Think with me here, but with the engine rotating normally would that pinch tighten the center cam bolt if there was no pin, or would it loosen it... motor goes clockwise, so if the pin did spin when the cam gear tried to move it would have tightened up that bolts grab and thats why the car still "ran"

I dont think the springs were strong enough. To withstand a turbo, cammed 3.4? Stock LS6 is like..... .550 inch limit or so. and thats without any forced induction. Bend rods are usually from spinning the engine beyond the valvetrains limit and a valve floats and SMACK. Of course, you could have stretched a timing chain or broke a tooth, those theories are feasable.

^that plus the fact the engine still has room for RPMs..i have them low still till i can start tuning properly

The springs are plenty stiff for boost on a stock cam and haven't floated valves or broken the cam alignment pin on the other motors.

3500 differences thread there is a part number for an adapter to use the stock sensor in one of the holes on the heads of a 3500.
