I didn't want to mostly because I don't feel like dropping $3k to get a fresh tranny.

I pulled out of making the whole rebuild kit because someone said that a company in Vancouver made them, THEN I look into the facts to find out that it was the 282 that they made rebuid kits for.

I think that I may look into getting some stuff made once again when I got the time, etc.

I did learn a lot from going through all the steps to have the bearings made, I did find out that EVERTHING is made specially for the 284, it is made to higher standards, RPMs, etc then the 282.

Which is why I won't swap my 284 for a 282 Well that and strength, gearing, and the actual Getrag name.

I hate to bump a old post, but I could really use syncros and bearings for mine. I have exhausted every resource I could think of. Bert's Automotive can no longer get the parts to rebuild them. And I have gone through about every gear manufacturer I could find in the states and I got the usual answer, "nope, sorry not available". I called Getrag and they in so many words told me to get bent, that they sold off all that stuff years ago.

So if someone makes new parts, count me in.
