Cool, everything should come together for summer then eh?
3400_modified: what about adding extra clutch packs.. How is that done? I know that fiero-x guy mentioned that he built his 60-e (yes 60, not 65) with extra clutch packs for his turbo 3800.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

It's something that if I rebuilt the trans I'd probably do just so that if the engine went I wouldn't have to worry so much about the trans or swapping to a 5spd and put a bigger motor in. 5spd would be nice for a project car but not DD around here. We have so many hills that are super steep you wear out clutches fast and people pull right up to your back bumper on steep hills on traffic lights. You have to two foot it with auto trans even so you don't roll back into them.
I wonder if it's just a matter of shoving them in and shaving a part down thinner to accommodate it? Does that book you have talk about adding more clutches or is that something you gotta find out elsewhere?sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

book is a STD rebuild guide... nothing performance orientated... Look up 65e stuff since you can use 65e clutch packs in a 60e

lol. It will be a few weeks before I have a chance to work on it. Currently juggling 3 jobs .
Plus I'll need another day to clean the transmission. Because it is PHUCKING dirty. It was not cleaned on the outside. Makes me worry about whats been done on the inside :O. Last time I deal with EP.
My recommendation for those who want LSD's, is to forget it. Upgrade to a 65e-HD parts from any auto trans from 98-03GTP's.

I've seen some real nice 60 ft times from stock diffs with the 65e-hd parts.
Plus you don't have to wait 6+ months for a diff which should be shipped in 2 weeks max. I mean how long does it take to build one?Last edited by blackbombshell95; 03-12-2008, 11:23 PM.

What makes the 65-e parts help you hook better? Or are you just saying use 65-e for more durability?sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

a 65e-HD diff also has tourington bearings behind the side spiders if I'm reading this right... I cant find a definite cut away of the 65e-hd diff but maybe someone can spread some insight on this.
