I got the camping prices off the site, and called to confirm with them. The site doesn't say anything about sites without electrical hookup, but I would want one. It will no doubt be hot and I'll want a fan in my tent.

when you say another 5 to make runs, do you mean for 1 run or the entire night? either way that is cheap as hell.

and for eveyone else's reference 54" is 4'6".

Ok guys, I did some calling today and got info on prices and camping. I can't reserve a campsite block, however I'm told if we arrive on Thursday there's a good chance we can get sites next to each other. I also found out there may be a whole other way to camp that's better still. We can rent an RV from the park to sleep in with A/C, and that would be comfortable as hell. Here's the pricing for that and the other attractions I looked up:

    Beech Bend Park

    Camping:

Site with 30 Amp outlet: $30/night

    Site with a 50 Amp Outlet: $40/night

If we want to all go in a rent an RV that sleeps 6: $150-200/night or $25-33 per person. This sounds like the best bet for some, not the cheapest but certainly the most comfortable.

    Amusement Park:

If you're over 54 inches tall (I assume we all are), it's $24 for an all access wristband to everything but the go-carts. you can also get a $10 gate pass that gets you into mini-golf, some water rides, and the petting zoo and get tickets for rides for 50cents a piece.

    Drag Strip:

To race on Saturday night, it's $5 to get in, and another $5 to make runs. That is dirt cheap, so I expect a lot of people will turn up.

    Corvette Assembly Plant Tour:

It only costs $5 per person to register ahead of time and get guaranteed admittance and name tags (Woo Hoo!) I think that's well worth it, I just have a feeling with GM's current woes there may be a lot of demand to go on a tour since Corvettes probably won't be built much longer.

Then I'm looking for things to do on Saturday morning. We have these options:

Lost River Cave & Valley Boat Tour

Tour lasts about an hour, half walking, half underground boat ride. $15 per person admission. We could do that right away in the morning.

    Historic Railpark and Train Museum:

Cars aren't the only things that have engines. The museum looks pretty awesome, and if you're a fan of old school engineering like I am, should be quite a trat. Costs $10 to get in, stay as long as we want.

Historic Diamond Cavern Tour and Mammoth Cave National Park tour:

These two same to be in the same vicinity as the Lost River Boat tour. Same $15 per person tour admission, so we could do one of both of these as well.

Otherwise, I thought maybe we could do a tour Sat. Morning somewhere, and do something in the park in the afternoon (mini-golf, go-carts, some rides, whatever) till it's time for drag racing at night.

Then on Sunday we can do breakfast somewhere and head home. I'm still trying to figure out something to fill the rest of Friday out. Could be any of the tours, the park, or something else entirely. I need your guys' input, it's your meet too.
