  • 3400 24x crank sensor / ignition coils question

hey im new to 60degreev6 i normally use jbody since i own one. i dont know if im in the right forum or not, if not can someone please direct me?. anyway here goes, i recently swapped a 3400 v6 engine out of a 2000 grand am se into my 97 cavalier with a 5 spd manual transmission. i have everything working (fuel pump, etc.) and i purchased an hp tuners suite so i can delete the a/t codes and theft lock and stuff from my 3400 computer.; i swapped over the full 3400 harness and engine and piggy backed nothing . i am using aftermarket gauges and things like that. but i ran into a problem. there is a 3 pin plug on the back of the coils plate on the driver side that i cannot find anywhere. ive studied wiring diagrams and everything and its not there. or atleast i cant find it. and i know i didnt cut anything when i took the harness out of my donor car and i also tagged everything so i would know how to place the harness back in the cavalier. and also i cannot find the plugin for the 24x crank sensor on the passenger side of the engine. i dont know where they are or what went wrong. the car will not even start without these to plugs plugged in will it? anyone with any info or any help on how or what i can do to hook this up would be greatly appreciated as i can wait to hear the car run. thanks in advance

3-pin plug on the ICM goes to the 3x crank trigger. Looks like the 24x sensor goes directly to the PCM.

oh and why do you think i would be missing the 24x ckp sensor plugin. the sensor itself is there but i doesnt look like its been used for a while. looks pretty dirty..i dont know if i was hooked up in the donor car or not..cant remember

3x one is the (7x) sensor in the block yes. 24x is the one on the TC behind the crank dampener.

one more thing, this diagram here is for a 94 3100. should be the same as a 2000 3400 or no?

For what you need yes for the 7x sensor.

3400 OBDII PCM you'll need the diagrams for the 24x sensor to see what pins it goes to.

i went over everything a couple times but i think it may be something to do with the passlock. i am using hp tuners to get rid of all the auto codes and the passlock although im not that good at using the program since ive only owned it for a few days. not sure if i have the right codes deleted or not. so far i have the vats changed to pwm and the 2 theft codes 1626 and 1629 set to "no error reported" as well as what i think to be all the auto codes. need to do a little more research on that part of it. that being said i have all the power to everything in the car. i know that some people who have done the swap have had some problems because they had no bcm but i've swapped everything over from the donor car (2000 grand am) ,full harness, the whole 9 yards..maybe im missing something..i'll have to check the wiring and do some testing again

I thought passlock shut off the injectors, but maybe it kills everything?
