If regular solder wont work then try silver solder from a welding supply store. It does cost about $50 an ounce but will solder almost any 2 metals together.
Like I said I just took off the weather pack off the trouble wire and put on a single long normal wire. The location of the 3 wire CTS isn't as hot as the head sender so no worries there.
Der Meister: I did try sanding it, but didn't try flux.
Dave, you want me to mail you a section of the wire and you can test your skills and flux pen?

Home Depot sells it in three stick packages in the weldong section. Not all HD's have a welding section, though. You have to get it pretty hot, I would suggest MAPP gas or better.
hehehe yeah my soldering iron doesn't go that high. It's a silver looking wire all the way through. No copper color to it at all.

both alloys will look like silver especially copper con.
poor-solderablility requires brazing brazing:
Aluminum or alum-bronze
high-alloy steel
constantan or alloys greater than 15%
Fair:
Carbon-steel
zinc
Nickle pure
Easy:
Tin
Cadmium
Gold
Silver
Palladium
Rhodium
Good:
Copper
Bronze
Brass
Lead
Nickel-Silver
Beryllium-Copper
Usually the more difficult to solder a metal the higher the temp needs to be and also there are differnt solders that are not just the run of the mill lead or tin.
I got the sucker red-hot with a torch and solder melted and rolled right off it. Funny stuff.

I had this happen to me too, its not the CTS harness, its the wire that is on the single wire head SENSOR, not anything harness related, go find a single wire head sensor cut the wire off and I dare you to solder to it, it just wont work.
I just wanted to use the connector on it. So what I did was re-pin the connector from the sensor wire, to a new wire and ran that wire down to the 3 wire CTS pig tail. So the stock single wire connector on the harness can still be disconnected (it's now up by the injector harness stuff by the alt). So the harnesses with the injectors and CTS wires can all be disconnected and left on the LIM now like stock.
