Yep, that's the only way. Solder will not stick as I posted earlier, at any heat (from experience). Silver solder is a cheap brazing material, and I haven't found anything it won't stick to. The stuff I use is 5% and is made for soldering/brazing A/C copper lines together. Problem is the heat needs to be in the 1200* range and Mapp gas barely does it on small stuff - really need a turbo acetylene or oxy/acetylene anything over 3/8" tubing (I've barely been able to push 1/2").

EDIT: The phosphorus sticks in the welding section at Home Depot works almost as well. They come three in a yellow/black package for about $5.

aparently your not talking about the same part, because every and ALL single wire head sensors you cant solder to.

Yeah I just wanted the connector on it so it all disconnects like stock up by the alternator. Only wire I cut was the 2 sensor harness and put the 3 wire on there with the pigtail from the single wire (well after I put a new wire on it).

that's where i was originally confused.. because in my mind i wouldn't have cut the pigtail off of the single wire CTS to solder onto the 3 wire plug..

i just cut the green wire after the sensor plug and soldered that to my 3 wire harness. But in my 91 cavalier engine harness the yellow/black(ECM) and the green (gauge) wires came off the main loom, not through the injector harness.

The single wire came out of the main engine harness, but the 2 wire has an intermediate harness. It connects to the CTS, then also connects with a second connector up by the injector harness connector. They made it this way because the CTS 2 wire goes through the same loom at the injector harness so you don't have to pull it out.

I wanted to keep the same functionality so I didn't solder the single wire which is in the main harness to the 3 wire CTS directly. I stole the connector pigtail so it could still be disconnected like the 2 wire does.

So I have a 3 wire CTS, and up by the alt 2 connectors for it. One single, one dual.

That depends on what side of the connectors you are. I found the o2 wires are copper from the connector to the harness, and nickle from the o2 to the connector.
