I would run a 1996 Monte/Grand Prix/Cutlass wiring harness and ecu and add the OBDII port under the dash. Its cheap and OEM. You can use DHP or HPT to tune. It will do pretty much anything an aftermarket management system will do and its just a matter of swaping the engine harness wich turned out pretty easy. you will need to add the new MAF and MAP and a front Knock sensor. But your call. It cost me about $175 for the harness and ecu from a junkyard and it all showed up on my doorstep complete and ready to install. the FMU works but it is not really a good solution if you can avoid i recommend you do. I found my harness and ECU on "http://www.Car-Part.com".

I got my injectors from ZZP. But the "Wbody Store" offers free flowmatching on the same injectors.

Boost creep is when you cannot divert enough exhaust to maintain the boost level. basicly it creeps up higher then the wastegate is set to. basicly "overboosting". adding the wastegate at the collector allows you to divert the exhaust from both front and rear banks. plus it gives you more of a equil pressure on both banks. attaching the WG to one bank can cause that bank to run lean as well.

As far as my fuel lines I made a new line for the return when i had the FMU. I bought some "fire Sleeve" from a local store that specializes in custom tubes and hoses ironically called "Tubes'N Hoses" in loveland. I just slid the sleeve over my fuel lines and used header wrap on the downpipe. Less heat near fuel lines the better. the hoses run VERY close to the downpipe. Wrapping the hoses is a MUST if you ask me.

I am only going to run the fmu to just get the car sunning. What should I expect the car to run like. As far as my wastegate, he is going to put it right at the end where it goes into the turbo. I am going to be getting the shield for the gas lines.

I am going to stick with the stock wiring harness. What is flow matching for the injectors?

just testing them to make sure they all flow the same (within a given tolerance). i just dont see going through all that work and not doing an easy obd2 swap. both tim and shane went or are going to go from fmu to obd2. i would learn from their "mistakes". just my $ .02 im going to do the swap to my 91 even though its going to be N/A.

Maybe down the road. I just want the car to run first.

only reason i suggested the OBDII swap and tuning via DHP/HPT is because it is much easier to swap a harness then to rewire the engine for fuel management. Plus you have the stock ecu which is allready for your car to run and idle and whatnot. it will run more like a stock car then you will ever get with an aftermarket management system ever will. you will have to create a new basemap from scratch with the Mega Sq. just to get the car to idle and it takes Along time to get it to idle and run as smooth as a stock basemap. everything just plugs in on the 1996 harness to your sensors. You can do pretty much anything fuel man. systems can with the stock ecu. But to each his own.

flowmatching means the test each injector to make sure they all flow the same as one another. in large batches some injectors will flow more fuel or less fuel then others even tho they are all the "same" size injector.

Both are great setups. i had a S/C 3800 in my lumina when i had it. I currently have a turbo monte. My lumina was faster (LQ1's are terds at 5000ft altitude). My LQ1 has no low end from a stop here in colorado but it screams up top.

Is Mega Squirt a piggyback system or a standalone system? My OBDII swap was cake, i did it in my garage with jackstands. you literally pull the old harness out and put the new harness in. You have to swap a couple pins on the firewall connector and add a OBDII data link connector under the dash. If you don't have a MAF you will need to add one and also run a 96 MAP. its a straight forward swap and my car runs and idles like any stock car. You input the injector size into the software and it calibrates the fuel automatically.

i dont think he has many more pics and we're running at bandimere, which is at 5800' about sea level and is one of the slowest nhra tracks (if not the slowest). nhra correction factor would be about a 13.8-13.9 at sea level
