  • Interesting Site Fact of the Day

So, Ben and I were discussing site memberships tonight... I typically see 3-5 new members each day. We are currently at 8,608 members, with ~331 being active (ie, posted within the last 30 days, IIRC). So I asked Ben how many people did he think had 0 posts. He said a lot. I decided to check it out. Here are some interesting numbers...
    • 4,154 members have never posted
    • 7,245 members have less than 10 posts
    • 8,399 members have less than 100 posts

Ok, so we don't have a lot of dedicated members, but who really cares. The fact of the matter is, a lot of people have come here, and actually registered. I would guess there are thousands more who visit and never register. Does it bother me? Not in the least. Ben and I will be the first to admit this is a niche site. But I think it makes it better that way. Its more personal. And besides, we've been around for over 10 years now (in some way, shape, or form), and I don't see us going anywhere anytime soon. I mean, I still have a Mustang that needs a 60V6 in it, so I can't leave until after that. And with the progress made on it over the last 10 months, I don't see it coming together anytime soon...

Anyway, thanks to ALL members for once again making this site what it is!!

ive been registered for 6yrs of the 10ys probably was on here before that too lurking in the shadows.

wonder why they registered and never posted unless it was just to download something or see the pics if non members can't see the pics posted. i know some sites do that.

Nothing if you want to go fast in straight line.
But if you want to get around a curve it wont help ya much. lol

well, that depends... the new challenger motors? the 5.7 V8 manages only 1MPG less than the V6 for highway fuel economy.... not bad at all IMO.

sadly, according to GM, all of the midsize sedans will not have anything more than a 4 cylinder VERY soon.... the fact that the new regal is 4 only, but the existing malibu can have 6 is mind-boggling.

now, if the sedans was fine print, i'm not sure, but that's how i read it.

Not gonna get into a pissing match with ya but one of my old dimes with a v8 was set up for autocross. As with building a drag car you have to build it for what you are racing. I'm here on this site and I'd take a s10 with a 60 before I'd take one with a 4.3 any day of the week but after building 6 v8 dimes if I'm gonna race one I'm gonna build it to race its class and a sbc is going in it. my daily will always be a dime with a 3.4 but for racing I'll keep to my roots and build a 383 stoker for straight line, a chevy 302 for revs, or a 383 for a mud pit. right now I'm back in mud pit racing so it wont be long till I build another v8 dime for number 7.

Im not trying to either. Each man to his own, but like you I am a blazer aficionado and I enjoy what I do probably as much as you do your own stuff.
But you speak from experience. I dont have much when it comes to experience but im on my way.

Im with ya on building for the class you will race in tho...

                          More useless stats...

We upgraded to the newest version of the forum software on April 11, 2010, so that is kind of the reasoning behind the dates. Also, the tracking code wasn't reinstalled on the site until April 21, so there is ~10 days of missing information in there. Needless to say, I don't think Ben or I ever though we'd see over a million page views in ~8 month timeframe.
