  • Software Update Complete - New Features List

The upgrade to vBulletin 3.7 went pretty smoothly last night. With this upgrade, there are some new features to the site that hopefully people will use. Here is a list of some of them which I think people may use.
There are more, but they are mainly administrative options. Please start to use these new features. If you have any questions about any of them, feel free to ask!

No, that's a host issue. I asked them about it earlier, and they said they were working on it. But they didn't give me any reasoning why it was happening.

Hopefully whatever issues the host has been having in the last couple of days is finally over and we can get back to having the site run normally again. I know I am sick of getting emails about database errors. I've gotten 300 DB error emails since Saturday morning... Ugh.

Anyway, I see some people are starting to use the new options. Guess they are working ok?

                    I love the photo albums

Too bad our photopost updates expired, cause they now integrate with 3.7.

photo album thing is working great no problems with that.

its just the internal server error that i keep getting. it was wicked bad this afternoon, it was taking forever to load and when i went to click the reply's to posts i would get the error but its been fine for the last 5 or so hours.

Yeah, I think the host finally fixed the problem. Looking at the server stats, there were some processes in the RED throughout the afternoon. So something was happening on the server (hopefully on a different site) causing it to slow down significantly. When I looked last night, everything was green and the server load was down significantly. So it appears the problem is finally fixed.

Yeah, I'm a fan of the photo album as well. Depending on how much people use it, I might allow for more pictures to be added. I am probably also going to try turning on the custom profile page edits and see how that goes. I don't want to go "MySpace" with it, but I think a little customization for users to do is a good idea.

yeah it seems normal speed now.

the photo section is cool, that should be enough space for now can always add more later if need be. i like that it resizes them automatically so i dont have to sit there and edit each photo.

a little customization to the profiles would be cool but yeah no myspace kinda crap theres enough of that out there.

Yeah, some of the options I disabled were social networking things. Things like buddy lists, and personal messages that people could leave in your profile, etc. I just don't see that being necessary for the type of site we are running here.

Added a couple things more today. Now above the "Who's Online" block at the bottom of the forum is a block showing 5 random pictures from people's albums. Also available, with the "Quick Links" dropdown on the navbar is "All Albums". This shows all the albums that have been created by users.
