Hello, I'm a new poster to 60degreev6 but not new to tuning GM turbo V6s. I've got a 91 Syclone running 11s on the stock motor/heads/cam and I use the Ostrich emulator and Tunerpro (previously GMPCM before I got screwed by everyone's favorite lunatic delusional maniac).

Anyways, I've been tuning my 1990 TGP for about a year now and I had to do an unbelievable amount of work to my definition before I finally got something remotely useful. The existing definitions were terribly off, and the worst offender of all was GMPCM's (which was sadistically satisfying, given the irony of comparing his embarassing errors to his claim of having the "most complete and accurate definitions").

Anyways, I've noticed this definition has a number of corrections, one of the most crucial is the change in scale on the RPM and KPA/load for the F29 and F29E fuel tables. Where did you find reference as to the true nature of these tables? Mick's ridiculous "200KPA" range is clearly false, it only takes a beginning tuner to realize the seriousness of the error, and your definition obviously takes this into effect as you've set the tables to 20Kpa to 190kpa.

I compared the 8F TGP definitions to the 58 Syclone definitions and based mine around that but I still have problems with the idle tuning not seeming to have the desired effect like it should. I also referenced the "gpturbo.txt" file out there that's a disassembly of the AUAF BIN.

For F29E, how did you arrive at your choice for the table ranges? I'm using 600,800,1000,1200 RPM while you're using 600,1000,1400,1800.

    Thanks,

    Josh

I have no idea where the 8F code came from. GMPCM screwed up the A1 and DF files as well, even though we have them complete and he was supposed to use that for his software. The only person I know with the complete 8F code doesn't wish to share it but some people have tuned their TGP setups with whatever is on here. I have stayed away from boost tuning on OBD1 but know that your boosted 4.3 setup is complete as well

Have you looked at the .doc file on this site for A1? It might be the source of the differences? Im not a coder, I just tune 6D, A1, and DF, and 6D is not nearly as complete as the later.

God damn this is a wicked definition file. I was using an old junky one till I found this puppy a couple weeks ago with the help of a friend...

          Sil you are the man.

Looking forward to any updated versions, or tips, whatever.

If you have a fix for the dreaded surging idle while using larger injectors, I am all ears. Mine works fine BLM 128 if I bring the idle up to 975. Anything lower, and it don't idle.
