  • NEW Valves Should I?

I am building the top end of my 3X00 and I am not sure if I really need to buy new valves.

I am going to run 9lbs of boost and a 125shot of Giggly.
I dont know what this means but "ASS HATS" is funny

Si valves will work better than stockers, but I would have them reworked a bit so they help flow instead of hurt it compared to stock valves. I can get them and rework them if you want for close to what you can get them for direct from SI (hopefully:P). I can also get them coated if you want that done. For your application it wouldn't hurt but you don't have to obviously.

When I redo the valves, i cut the seat on a valve grinding machine to make sure the seat contact patch is perfect. I also cut an angle on the backside that has done well with flowbench testing. Figure 140 plus shipping on them if you want them. Not sure on cost to have them coated.

What do you mean Coated? There are a few other items I want to discuss with you for my heads. I will send you a PM.

But again what do you mean coated? And what is SI?

Ok, I lied and can't sell the modified valves that cheap. I have to price them at 150 for a set that I modify. The coatings they can do would be an anti friction coating for the valve stem (though we need to test thickness to see if it will make it too tight), and the heat dissipating coating for the stem heads. I can also have the combustion chambers coated and pistons. Basically it helps keep the heat inside the combustion chamber and out the exhaust rather than transmitting through the parts. Hotter temps = higher velocity so its a win/win situation. Exhaust valves need it the most, as im not even sure if most places coat intake valves. I will have to look into that some more.
