Anyone think there is any advantage to having an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on a 3.4, or does the stock preset unit do an adequate job?

Only way you'd need one is if you add a cam or boost where you might need to change the base pressure level. Other than that, no.

so how does a adjustable fpr work anyway
i know with my cam there was too little of a vacuume and too much overlap for my ecm to compensate
would a fpr be something that i might want to look into

          For what it's worth,
My RRFPR works off of the vacuum side of the fueling system. On mine, I had to hook the big line of the RRFPR to the 5/16" line of the fuel rail, then hook the other line from the RRFPR to the old spot of the EGR vacuum line (My EGR is deleted) . The thing is though, if you are keeping it stock with no FI, then you leave that small vacuum line alone and don't hook it up to anything & set the regulator at the alan screw for the PSI you want.
