  • Correct Flowmaster muffler series for 3400?

Has anyone installed a flowmaster muffler on their 3.4 V6. Need to determine which series would work best.
vechile is a 2005 Chevy Equinox AWD 3.4 ltr V6 (LNJ)

50 Series says it's for SUV's but also says it's for large displacement engine but they don't say what large displacement is? I mean my 3.4 is large compared to a 1.8 ltr in my buddy's Matrix but is small compared to my dad's Silverado with a 6.0 ltr.

60 Series for Sport Compact cars which seems to be small engines 1.8 to 2.4 ltr.

Last thought I would like your guys suggestions on is the resonator that Chevy also put on the 'Nox.
Leave it on or take it off?

I'm partial to the 50-series... I've had 2 of them on my Beretta for the last 9 years.

I am partial to No muffler. I think I truck sounds awsome.

I like Borla mufflers myself. If I had to use one.

the 50 series is meant for large displacment SUV. 3.4 is big compared to 1.8l, however its tiny compared to an 8.0l v10, or a 454.

i have a pair of 60 series on my 2.8l. they sound real nice. they are designed for small displacment 4 and 6 cylender motors, wich ours fall into.

          correct flowmaster

          Cool thanks for the tips.

Called Flowmaster and they agreed on the 60 series. The guy did keep asking me what vechile it was... Like I'm lying about what I'm putting the muffler on. Oh well guess a SUV isn't really a high call vechile.

I put my head under the 'NOX the exhaust is one piece from just behnd the cat all the way to the tailpipe. So I guess I'll just pull the entire piece out if I can figure out how to get the pipe up and over the rear axle. Then I can mock up my own system outside the vechile. Woo Hoo.

I have the 40 series delta flow, full 2.5" exhaust, the muffler is single in, dual out. No cat. and it's not overly loud. all on a 3400, sound alright I think.

yah, i did all the sheet metal work in the parking lot of my old apartment.

If i hadn't put 10 coats of sound eliminator undercoating on there i'd weld it all in now...

                    maybe next spring
