Hey guys, this sight rocks! I didnt think there was this much knowledge about our engines out there! I have a 91 isuzu with a 3.1 that I am planning on upgrading to a 3.4 this summer. I want to start the exhaust now since my manifolds are cracked and the rest of the system is rusting off. Should I run duals or stick with a stock setup? I really want good low end torque and mid-range power, that's my goal anyway. I heard the flowmaster 50 series works really well, any suggestions? I also am curious what is the best aftermarket cam and rockers?

id have to thinks a good dual setup with an h-pipe would do a lot of good. as fa as cams, its a matter of aplication is what determines the best one. for the trooper (you did say isuzu, right? what other isuzu gets the motor?)you wouldnt want a real agressive topend cam, if you pull anything, you'll be like "where's the beef?" if your just runnin&gunnin, i guess it couldnt hurt. the popular cam is the gm performance cam or the crane h260-2, identical cams. then thers the crane 272, which bumps the power further up, but it comes later, with less low-end. youd probably be happier with forced induction, it doesnt move the power around so much as just multiplies it.If you aren't friends with a liar, you aren't friends with anyone.

Big dual exhaust will take away alot of low end torque. Keep it single through the cat and then split it after if you want to. Go 2.5" pipes. I would rather have a Borla muffler over a Flowmaster. I am sick of the Mustang sound.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

Could be a trooper, a rodeo, or a pup. Single 2.5 is what I would stick with. Headers would have to be custom made by a shop. I've been meaning to get to the junk yard and find a set of headers from an s10 to see if they fit (I think they were made at one time). Check out s-series.org for info on cams and doing the 3.4 swap, and 4x4wire.com has an isuzu forum you could check out for isuzu specific info.
