To make your head even bigger, Colin... I emailed the my guy at GM Powertrain and linked him to the thread. Just wanted to let them know what people tinkering with their engines can accomplish. I'll be sure to post any replies I get from him.
wow, congrats man. i didnt realise nobody had broken into the 13 with a v6 j body. massive props man, you deserve it.
next year you will have compotition with the fastest na v6 j body. im building one killer of an ironhead 2.8l, and my desktop dyno 2000 is telling me 230hp with performance exaust manifolds, and im building my own headers as well. im hoping mid 14s for the first time out next year. im going for the title of fastest ironhead j (i think ive got the "only guy stupid enough to build an ironhead" covered already) and fastest na first gen.
WOOO HOOO... thats sweet news colin.. was that with everything out of the car? i didnt think you mentioned it but i'm assuming you did. was this without messing around with the holly commander again as well?!!!
congrats again
got zap-straps?

but the helmet will weigh you down bringing you back to the 14s. LOL
Thats a kick ass time. those slickes pay off big time. I hope i can hit 13s next year. i like the NA 13s better because people will freak out more. i bet everyone there was like WTF a sunbird hitting 13s????

14.30 on slicks! scrapped due to rust!
the Holley helped heaps. dropped about .3 tenths with some playing around with tuning just on sunday with it..
the car weighs approxamatly 2800 pounds or so.... its like 30xx with me in it.
Thanks Brad... sadly i wish i had my other engine built up.. this one's basically what can you do with a stock bottom end. LOL... i'd re-do it so many different ways all over again if i could.. the things you learn over the years...
i think i might let everyone catch up next year.. we'll see if i run the car again next year or not.

A 1.9 60' on a FWD is pretty good, thats for sure. However, I think that car has even more left in it. If Colin can learn to launch it even more, it should be able to hit low 1.8's, high 1.7's, especially with how light it is. My dads GTP has pulled mid 1.7's on slicks on numerous occasions with a race weight of around 3700lbs, but it didn't do that when he first started racing it...he has just learned how to drive it better since. Don't get me wrong, a 1.9 60' is great on a FWD car, I just think that Colin's car has the potential to go even further, especially with that LSD. Afterall, I pulled a few 2.0 60's on street tires in my car when it was stock, and thats with an open differential, and obviously a significantly heavier car.
