  • crane roller rockers

hey guys i know its been talked about b4 but i was wondering what needs to be done to install crane rockers to the 3400 head ?
do you need to mill down the pedestal on the head and then install the stud and guides.
any help would be great. pics would be a plus

    thanks guys.

Depends on the year some have 10mm threads and some have 8mm threads. This will dictate the studs you need to buy. The 8mm studs will leave a lot of slop in the guide plate holes so it may be wise to bush them or drill and tap the heads for the 10mm studs. Guide plates come directly from any GenII motor and bolt right on under the studs. The rockers then bolt on and get preloaded like any other adjustable valvetrain. You will need to clearance the runners on the LIM and maybe the rocker arms. You could also search out another narrow body rocker arm that has a smaller pushrod end that may not require LIM clearance work.

Yes as long as they are no wider than the Crane rockers. The Chevy Power Manual has more details on the actual width that will fit.
