Max, we will make a copy, or post all about the final pieces of the puzzle. Now that we are building the entire motor, you will see first hand what's needed, be patient my friend
    Yay!!!

Oh...BTW what rod bearings were you talking about. I havent bought any rod/main bearings yet.
Took a break from working on the car. Got some better tools, got a better shop, got a better job... Its time to burn metal!

I haven't torn down quite a dozen 660's, but those bearings to me look like they have around 150k at least on them. I would chuck them at someone that tried to tell me they only had 10k miles on them.

I actually couldnt find to much high res. pics of his work, i was kinda wondering more towards the outside edge of the heart shape on the chamber, as far as what doesnt over lap the gasket. I understand that it would lower the CR, but i wouldnt loose sleep over a few points. Very nice work though Ben.

I will have to update the store soon for the high performance rod bearings. They are $115 a set for the 60V6, and I want to fit them in this motor and check them out first before I list them. All measurements say its good, but I have been through too much to guess at it.

Then by all means, take your time. Ive got another three weeks before I even begin final assembly of the motor any-who.
BTW... I have a .010 align hone on the main bore of my block. Will oversized/undersized be "special order" items or will they be available for shipping when the bearings become listed?

All this talk about compression/engine wear has got me worried.

From MY understanding (take it with a grain of salt) my 3.4 with stock pistons, stock head gaskets, and 3500 heads will see UPWARDS of 12:1 CR

My motor has just under 99,000 miles on it and has always been babied but...

Does anyone else think my motor is gonna blow itself apart?

the rod bearings and timing chain have been the problem areas with high compression (the cheap aftermarket chains). I don't think it will blow itself up but the longevity will not be the same as a low compression motor either.

What I sell now (The tri metal)

P-Series rod bearings are the oldest members of the Clevite 77 performance-bearing family. They're intended for high-revving engines, especially those where the high rpm cause the rod bores to narrow. To compensate for this distortion, they have higher eccentricity and a high crush factor. P-Series bearings are built on hardened-steel backings with extra-thin overlays, and their oil grooves extend all the way around both halves for better oiling. Lower sections have dowel holes for use with aluminum rods, and there are extra-clearance variations available with an additional 0.001 in. of clearance.

                  And what is coming.

Clevite H-Series rod bearings were primarily developed for NASCAR racing, but are well suited to other types of competition engines. They're especially good for engines that run at medium-to-high revs. They have hardened-steel backings with thin overlays and a high crush factor, plus a medium level of eccentricity. H-Series bearings have enlarged chamfers at the sides for greater crank-fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating. They are available with various under-sizes, including 0.001 in. of clearance for polished journals.

Good thing I didn't cheap out on the timing chain then. Cloyes true double roller.

These are rods only. I don't have the mains figured out yet for the H series bearing. I can get up to .030 over but will only stock std and .010.
