Hey, Brian, do you post over at the PlanetIsuzoo forums? When you get this swap worked out it would make a great article for the site. I expect there's quite a few Isuzu Nuts who would be interested in this!

BTW the O.P. (michael) with plans to offer a TBI-to-Multiport adapter harness might have another market with the ZuZu folks since the 3.4 TBI swap is a popular conversion.

The ability to upgrade to aluminum heads and improved EFI system with better economy, driveability, and more HP potential than a TBI would be great. I may have to build another motor for my Troop when I retire next year! I have a core 3.4 hanging around in the garage just waiting for a project!!

Thanks for the Very Informative Thread.............ed

p.s. I bet that Lil' Red P'up moves out quite Smartly with a 3.4 in it! Quite a bit lighter than a Trooper.
'90 Trooper 3.4 Conversion, bored intake, Holley Big-Bore, 1.6:1 Small Block Chev V8 roller-tipped rocker arms.

      Hi, Ed,
I have been to Planet Isuzoo to see if anyone had done any conversions other than the GMPP 3.4 upgrade. None that I saw.
Where I am now is a full 'transplant', per Dave, for an '04 Malibu 3500. Sounds reasonable/doable. I hope to document all as I go, for those who would be interested. Keep in touch! Nobody needs to 'reinvent the wheel' is why I came to this websight to start with. Super folks, great help. Much credit to Brad.

The mechanical side of it will be easy, it's the computer side that's going to take some effort. It's definitely do-able though.

I think once it's all said and done you'll really enjoy the power increase and the better gas mileage.

            Hi, Ed,
            Page 2!
You might be interested in knowing that I bought my '92 P'up new, it was built in June of '92 in Indiana. I have put 684K miles on the chassis. I replaced the 3.1 with the 3.4 at 303K; thought I had a cracked head/block due to massive water loss w/ no visible leaks. LSS, it was the intake manifold - cracks between water jacket and 1-2 intake passage and thru the bottom into the valley as well. I'm on my 3rd manifold now. For those who are having a similar problem, cut off the lower spring and seal from your radiator cap and run unpressurized. Reduces the problem. I add about a pint of coolant every 800 or so miles.

              Hi, All,
              New thread - "3500 into a P'up".
              A few questions there.

OK, have the 3500 from the '04 Malibu. On E-bay is an engine harness for 92-93 Cavalier/Beretta/Corsica $75.00. What do you think? I went to a Pull-A-Part yard today, got the fuel rail and started on getting the harness. 2 hours later, very little accomplished. Your thoughts, please.
