My new AC Delco Irridiums actually say NGK on them.

But put them in and forget about them.

      I'm all for less work.

Stock for 3x00 motors is TR55...

What heat range is TR5, TR6 etc and gap? I can't find specs list anywhere.

Thinking maybe one step colder than stock for high compression possibly if needed........

          EDIT: http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/docs/te...tnumberkey.pdf bingo.

no need for too much colder on high compression....nitrous yes. tr6 is like a little more than 1 heat range i thought?

TR55 according to NGK is stock for 3x00, which is range 5, .060 gap.
TR6 is higher heat range 6 (colder plug) and .040 gap. I don't think they make a TR65 which would be range 6 with .060 gap.

I'll try running stock delco plugs but if I can't on 91 octane I may need to try a colder plug. Ideally I should have .040 head gaskets to get the quench from .07 to .05 which would help prevent pre-ignition, but that would also bump compression up to 12.3:1 and probably need a larger cam. All that would cost too much to change so I'm just looking into options... I don't want to have to pull all spark advance on 91 octane, so if I can run a colder plug and run reasonable advance then that is an option I may go to. I'll just re-gap them to .060 if I have to use them. I doubt they will blow out.

Once I get it running then I'll know what I need. Just getting ideas and options here. Cold IAT's are a must as well. No WAI for me, but I can't stand them anyway so that's no problem.

i may not have a newer 3400 engine, i can only speak for myself, the bosch 4 plats work real nice on the older 3.4 dohc engines.
