I have been told by one person that the 3400sfi block is prone to cracking. his basis for this belief is the history of the block. here's what he said (this is a direct quote from an email.)
"Before Pontiac built the 3.8 GTP and the GM variants, they offered a turbo car that used your block as the base. There were a lot of guy's out there and one I knew personally that kept breaking the block itself in any real performance application, the car only lasted two years before GM pulled the plug and built the GTP cars many years later"
assuming this history is true, would that mean that the 3400sfi is prone to cracking?
Is there anyone here that can point me to proof this is not true?
