  • Active Fuel Management Disable

Hi, does anyone know if you can turn off the AFM in something like the LS4 motor? I assume you would have to tune the ecm to have it disabled but I don't know what else. Thanks.

Tuning software such as HPTuners can disable AFM/DOD functions - It's just a flag on the Engine---> Fuel Control---> COT,Lean Cruise screen for the LS4.

I suppose you could physically disable it by disconnecting the solenoids that supply to the AFM/DOD lifters. These solenoids are designed to fail in the closed position, so the lifters can't collapse. Probably throw a few codes though.

Then you should be able to swap to normal lifters correct?

Yeah, but on the LS4 you need new lifter retainer trays too.

You could swap that from LS1 though right?
