I just wanted to check something with you guys. I know that a top end from a 3400 out of a van is far from desirable (the restrictions and such), but what about the bottom end? Are they the same as all 3400s or do they have differences/problems I don't know about?

Same as a 3100, just the block and pistons are different for the larger bore. The van top end is fine. Only better if you get a 2000+ UIM it flows a bit better in the neck area. Other than that just tiny casting revisions over the years.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

Alright awesome, just wanted to be sure. I'm negotiating with him now on price. I'm not too worried about the top end because I'm hoping to use this as a base for a hybrid swap. I may keep the top end and swap the full 3400 or I'll use the top end on my 3100 ported for the time being. otherwise I'm just going to sell it off.
See what happens.
