  • Header question?

I was wondering if they make headers for the 3.1L or if something from a grand-am like older grand-am with tha 3300 motor fit or what I should do? I understand that the manifolds are really restricive. What should I do? Thanks guys!

Making your own is really the only option.

Contact betterthanyou here on the forums, as he has made them in the past and may still have some hanging around. Or he can always do another run I'm sure.

if you can fabricate them cut off the flange from the manifold, port it, and use that as a flange

Not that easy to weld mild steel to cast iron...

yeah, the stock manifold is cast and you cant really weld to cast... well you can but it will crack in a short time.

You can weld to it if you are able to pre heat it and then post heat it for several hours.

the headers are for the newer gen cars... if im not mistaken (someone correct me if im wrong) but the newer gen cars have bigger engine bays.. from the rear of the engine to the firewall.. I would love to get a set for my 96 GP 3100...!
