Cold will be whatever the outside temp is.
    Running should be 200*F
    Hot is 220*F to 230*F
    Fried is anything over 230*F.

keep in mind some iron head motors are well known for surviving temps up to 280*F but only for a short time. Aluminum head motors should never venture over 230*F for any length of time. Especially a Dodge 4cylinder LOL

my 99 grand am hangs around 200 once its warmed up.

in the winter with the 180 t stat it would hang around 180, turn the heat on anything above 2 and it temp drops, but ive heard with the grand am's even completely stock cars it bleeds off rather quickly.

Fan kick on for my 3100 is 227F. Running is between 170-200, depending if you are moving, how cold it is outside, or if you are stopped in traffic. In winter it barely will get up to 170. Usually is around 160 in winter.

Mine went up to almost the red once when the trans cooler was leaking inside the radiator, which put trans oil in the coolant which didn't help cooling. On my gauge 1/2 is 200, and a hair over is 227, lol. So the temp rises drastically the higher the gauge goes. 1/4 is 180 IIRC.
