  • Confusion... clear up some stuff for me..

I just popped the valve cover off the 3100 (I was told it was out of a '96 Grand Am) and noticed something - NO ROLLER ROCKERS.

Well, now I'm pissed. I DID notice the rocker studs had the 'groove' under them... can I put the 3100 roller rockers on these heads?

And what happened? I thought the 3100s were roller rockers? It says 3100 SFI right on the intake...

94-95 and some 96 and maybe 97s aren't roller. 3400s are all roller and 96+ SHOULD be roller but not necessarily. If your heads have the notches in place, then you can put rollers in there easily.

Yes, they sure do! Now where to get the roller rockers... and I'll need new rocker studs, as well?

The rockers come with the studs in them already. Ebay has them now and then.

We just did a 3400 swap and have all 12 rockers left over. They only have 9000K on them. Talk to Lloyd (Pantera) they belong to him im sure he will be glad to get them out of his gerage.

It is easier to just swap heads that have the notches in them. You could use crane gold race rollers I believe but that will be expensive.
