  • Major oil Leak almost blew engine

OMG, my oil line for my supercharger that's not in use right now, some how cracked. I started hearing a knocking. Pulled over saw oil spraying everywhere and I hurried and turned that engine off. Checked the dip stick....No oil. I started to crap my panta cause i just had rebuilt my engine. Forged pistons and all.

What long term damgage if any am i looking at.

Oh yeah I added oil and the noise went away.

I seriously need a oil pressure gauge. I think Ill swap out my second temp gauge for an oil pressure one.

    Oh jeez...

How long did it go without oil? If it was just for a few seconds, I think you'll be OK.

Def get an oil pressure guage.

Eh, sounds are always bad. Fix it, fill er up, run it fo ra while then maybe change the oil to see if any metal or particles are in the oil?? A magnetic drain plug would help you see that... I hope you are ok but man sounds are bad..

        for the tip.
It seems to be running just fine.

make sure your oil pressure is within spec. they'll knock a bit before any real damage occurs, especially with a slow leak. chances are good you still had some oil pressure for lubrication, just not enough to keep things from banging. hopefully you were just cruising and not running hard.

I agree...if oil pressure dissappeared the PCM would have picked up on it and set the idiot light...provided RSM didn't mess that up as well.
