  • almost done...

some of you may already know, i have been doing a hybrid build in 91 beretta with 3400 heads/LIM and 3500 UIM. its been over a year since it last ran. i ran into a few problems: i had to make room for my crane gold race roller rockers, i guess a few of you have already done this. i also had to make room for my mechanical roller lifters. the bridge was coming in contact with the LIM as well but that was easier to fix than the rocker problem. i have the phenolic spacers but i may not be able to use them because they cause interference with the UIM and the adjustable FPR i got from the store here. hood clearance may be an issue as it looks like it will be very close. i have some pics so far and will post more as i get more done.

So, what all needs to be clearanced? I think I've read about this before. Is it part of the lower intake and what else?

Who wants to build me a set of heads and manifolds all clearanced so I can just drop them into my engine?

the LIM needs to be clearenced for 2 rockers on each head, about an 1/8" material was taken out where needed and 1mm had to be taken from the back side of each rocker for the same spot.

the cam is a custom billet mechanical roller unit from crower, 250* duration, .510 lift and 110* lobe seperation with 1.5 rockers

i had to cut some extra material out of the UIM to clear the FPR, went too far in and had to jb weld the little hole i made. the hood must come within 1/4" with the phenolic spacers on, its close but will do. tomorrow i should have the front header on and rest of it complete. i want to start it tomorrow and hear this thing run.
