  • Modifying a 3400

I got a 01 3400 or should I say 3X00, somebody enlighten me on that 3400 or 3X00. I'm wanting to modify it for my Fiero to be a weekend warrior. I'm wanting to use a OBD1. Don't know about the timing chain cover and oil pan. Maybe bump up the CR to about 10.5-1. Any suggestions on a cam, needs to be somewhat streetable. Would it be better to stick with stock heads and intakes, biggerTB, with some mild work done to them . Or swap to a 3500 heads and intake with bigger TB and mild work done to them. This is going to be NA engine maybe with a shot of nitrous. NA HP will be between 250-300, is this attainable, max rpm 6000-6250

When we mention '3x00' it means were talking about the 3100 and 3400 V6's collectively since they share many interchangeable parts.
