cam suggestions

hey guys i need some suggestions on a cam
i curruntly have a crane 260 but it is defective so im wanting something more aggressive to replace it with
i have a 10.5 compression ratio and am considering a crane 272
they will raplace it for free so i just need to figure out what i want
i wouldnt mind a rough idle or anything and i am going to go to a bigger final drive and cutom stall convertor in the tranny soon along with custom programmed chip
what are everyones recommendations

How did you determine your comp. ratio was that high and do you need to past an emission inspection? There is another version of that 260 cam which puts the power into the low-mid range instead of mid-upper which would make for a better 1/4 mile performer,it comes in the 3.4 crate engine. Has the same specs except for lsa which is 107 compared to 112. I haven't used the crane 272 but some of the guys at s-series.og and s-series forum have,might check there.

as far as the compression ratio i had custom pistons made and no i dont have to pass emissions i know i want atleast the 272 as i have desktop dyno and it is much more desireable than the 260 i currently have
im just trying to figure out if there is a more aggressive one than the 272 or if anyone knows of any magic numbers that i could use to have a cutom cam made if that would be the best way to go

Crane has a mechanical with 500 lift,but the 272 seems to be the limit for a hyd.

i would go with the 272 as long as the rest of the engine is ready for that type of upper RPM power.

yeah i built it like a brick shit house no problem there
yeah ive decided on the 272
took the specs to the mechanic and ill let you all know when i get it done
