Looking for some input, I am building a 3.1 to put in my daily driver Mazda P.U. It has a transplanted 2.8 and 4L60 already, looking to get more torque and horsepower. What I have is a 3.1 crank, pistons & Iron heads, 2.8 block and intake, yes it is going to be carburated. I am planing to port match the intake and possibly build some headers. What I want is some ideas for carb and cam combo's (Holley 390?) is there an adapter plate available. I am looking for low and mid torque not to concerned with top end (Tire smokin rpms). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    thanks for the help!

    3.1 cam

If your looking for torque Comp Cams has a cam with 240-248 duration - ,390- .390 lift and a 108 lobe separation and 108 intake centerline , I tried that cam on my Dyno 2000 software and it shows the most torque of any cams I input , you should change springs as well and mayby go to the 1.6 Roller rockers which would give you a final lift of .410- .410 ... That would give you lots a grunt up to about 4000 rpm, Hedmon has flanges with tubes welded in the flange , might make it easyier too make your headers and Mr. Gasket has carburator adapters that should work for you.
