First of all, thanks for the add to the forum. I am a G6 fan from day one (more on that later.) To the point of the post...
I recently purchased a legit 22K mile G6 4D base with the 3.5 engine. After slapping on a new set of Michelin Pilots, it was time to take the new/old girl for a run. Got it good and warmed up, topped it with premium and a bottle of injector cleaner... then hit the freeway for some 50-80 mph full pulls in high gear to hopefully loosen any congestion in the upper end.
On the last run, there was a tiny belt squeal at the top of third just before the upshift, then the SES light popped on, and it felt sour. Had a bad miss at the light, but no mechanical mayhem, sound or smoke.
Took it to the dealer, who pulled the P300 code (>?) and after switiching parts around, found the cylinder had "no" compression, and no apparent pushrod activating the valve (they were not specific) could not tell where it went (but must have been in there someplace.
Can't tell if any valves were bent (doubt it, springs and keepers seem to be there) or what happened to the rockers.Normally a failure like this is a bus trip home.
This happen to anyone else? Busted or loose rocker? WTF? The think was running like a damn electric motor before. Ball and Chain is thin-lipped to the max. Any and all advide and real world experience appreciated.
Thanks!
