  • No start 83 pontiac ste 2.8 lh7 (HO)

I have a no start with no codes on this carb 2.8 with an hei/est dizzy. This has an icm and ecm with a single coil. It is a different setup from the 2.8 in the s-10.

Looks like it's geting fuel and the problem is in the ignition. It had a bad miss the other day that that went away, which I thought was a bad plug wire. But now I think it is ign failure related. The coil ohms out ok (I know it still could be bad). I'd like to get some input on testing the icm, pickup , ckp etc.

What color spark are you getting?

Well, good news - bad news . It did get it started today in a bit warmer weather 19 F vs 9 F before when it would not start. Stumbled for the few couple of seconds, but the smoothed out. Looks like an intermittent problem, since a miss a week ago when it was about 40 F. I have to do a spark test when it warms up a bit more in a few days - these temps from the arctic blast are too cold too work outside.
