I just purchased a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT with the 3.8 Mivec from the dealership yesterday afternoon, I looked it all over real good, and made sure everything was checked out.
I get to the car and drive it around only to check and find that the power steering fluid is a half an "inch" below "Min" line. I cannot believe I missed that, anyway.....
I hear a clicking sound from the engine, and wondering if it is the pump going bad, or if it is the valves?
Here is a video of the sound.
What is it?
I noticed in the manual the mileage states I need the following changed.
Spark Plugs, Wires, Timing Belt, and that the valves should be checked and adjusted to prevent knocking....
I also think the fuel filter should be replaced as well, since I have no idea if that was ever replaced. A "Tune Up" has not been done on the vehicle that I know of.
The service record was mostly oil changes, and a few parts recalls, a couple front end parts. It has 85,570 miles at this moment.
What are your thoughts?
